| One of the few places you can hunt wild, free-ranging bison is in Alberta, where the so-called wood bison lives in boreal forests. These animals do not live in open, grassy plains and are difficult to hunt. You should be in pretty good shape. You'll ride a snowmobile cross-country until you cut a bison track.
