High-success hunt for Manitoba black bear

This hunt has been in high demand due to the enjoyment of the hunt, high success and large black bears. Seldom does this outfitter fail to send each hunter home with a bear, and the animals are typically in the 250 to 300-pound range with an occasional monster weighing 400 to 500 pounds and squaring seven feet.

Spring hunts take place from mid-May to early June. He also offers early September hunts. Hunts.Net Customer Mike Zuzio took a fall hunt, got a shot at an estimated 500-pound trophy and passed on several other bears. These tree stand hunts for six days include house accommodations in Hodgson and Winnipeg airport pickup. This father and son operation gets 16 bear permits per year for spring or fall hunting. Hunter success is 100% most years. The outfit's worst year was 2000, when 16 hunters got 13 bears. The bruins here are much bigger than those taken in typical Quebec or Ontario hunts. The bears tend to be bigger in the fall after they've fattened up while preparing for winter. A 400-pound spring boar will weigh close to 500 pounds in the fall. Fall hunters see fewer bugs, but baiting is usually more difficult. Good bait sites often produce four or five different bears per evening.
