Blacktail deer (Sitka and Columbia races)
Blacktail deer in Oregon: This outfitter has 20,000 private acres of prime private property near Roseburg on the North Umpqua River. To ensure high hunter success on nice bucks, he is hunting the property very lightly and prefers hunters to come during the prime muzzleloader season, which is during the rut in November. Rifle hunts are Oct. 22-26 and Oct. 29-Nov. 2, but it will be more difficult then to see mature bucks. The hunt is $3,500 and includes a landowner voucher, but you must order your license by March 15. Lodging is included in a four-bedroom ranch house.
