This hunt has been our top-rated brown bear hunt for more than 15 years. The outfitter typically takes 11 or 12 hunters a year. Hunts take place in the spring of even-numbered years, such as 2008, and in the fall of odd-numbered years. In 2004 and 2005 combined 23 hunters took 18 bears. Usually every hunter gets shooting. Most bears square from nine to 10 feet or more. Accommodations are in plywood cabins. Each hunter has his own guide. Hunts are seven days long.

Temperatures |
| Book early. You fly to Anchorage and take a scheduled flight to where the outfitter meets you on the Peninsula. Expect $800 to $1,000 for that flight. |
The Alaska Peninsula is notorious for bad weather. Expect cold rain and wind and plan a couple of extra days on each end for transportation delays. |
