48,000-acre ranch in southwestern New Mexico offers high quality archery elk hunts, unguided or guided

Here is an opportunity to hunt one of the finest properties anywhere for trophy elk. The 48,000-acre ranch lies within a big game management unit that is famous for producing big bulls, but this ranch is even better than the public portions of the unit because the ranch uses only one-third of the landowner vouchers that it receives. Each year only eight bowhunters and eight muzzleloader hunters are permitted on the property. In the past few years a large corporation has taken all of the permits. This is the first opportunity the public has had to hunt the ranch for many years. You no longer must have a group of hunters to book this hunt unless you want the entire ranch to yourselves during one of the three September bow seasons. The ranch has lots of elk and many quality bulls in the 330 to 390 class. The ranch has been tied up for 10 years, but the corporation that has been taking all the permits decided on something else this year. Landowner vouchers included. Ask about Hunt EKB4573.

Terrain Trophy size
Mostly pinyon, juniper, desert grasslands. Water holes concentrate elk, so blind hunting is effective. The terrain is not rugged, making this ranch relatively easy to hunt for hunters who are not in tiptop physical condition.
This ranch lies in a unit managed for trophy bulls, but the ranch manages even more conservatively, using only one-third of the permits it receives. Therefore, hunters see bulls in the 330 to 380 range.
Area Licenses
You'll stay in a lodge on the property. Meals are not included on the self-guided hunt. Click here for the latest price. You do not need to draw a tag to take this hunt; the landowner voucher is included.
