Hunts.Net Customer Don Biggs and his blackpowder bull. His party of three hunters missed a bull much bigger than this one and hit and lost a third bull. This hunt is not as expensive as some because the ranch is small and doesn't hold elk every day. But there are usually a few bulls on the property, particularly if it snows. Last year (2007) we saw several big bulls up to 340 class in October even without any snow. The outfitter hs other ranches where he could take you for a day or two if this property is not producing. He expects to be able to get shooting for most hunters in five days. The ranch is near properties that charge $7,000 to $9,500 for elk hunts, separated only by a public wildlife management area where no motorized vehicles are allowed during elk season. Thus, that area is reachable only by backpackers and horsemen. There are not as many elk in the area in October during rifle season as in November during muzzleloader season, but there are usually a few. Licenses are sold over the counter but usually sell out before the season. |
Mike Pincock of Utah took this bull on the bordering public wildlife area on a hillside that abuts the lease.
