Northeastern New Mexico: Utah elk: A hunt provider with leases in northern Utah is offering trespass permits for rifle elk hunting. Prices vary from $750 to $2,000, depending on the ranch. These permits are valid on his private leases, which are in units where you can take any bull. Due to early snowstorms in the higher summering terrain, he expects the hunting to be excellent this year on his properties which are several thousand feet lower in elevation than the higher mountains to the north and east of his leases. We had two youth hunters draw an early season (September) tag for one of these leases a couple of years ago, and they both killed branched-antler bulls, so elk can be on the ranch even in mild weather.
