This outfitter has taken six rifle hunters each of the past two years along with a single bowhunter last year. All the hunters took a bull scoring at least 300 Boone and Crockett gross points. In 2003 the biggest rifle kill scored 348, and the archer's bull scored 346. Three bulls were in the 320 to 325 range, and two of the bulls were a bit over 300. The outfitter has added to his leases and now has 125,000 acres along the Cimarron River east of Raton. You'll stay in a house and eat ranch meals. The bulls in this part of New Mexico seldom get much over 350, but there are usually good numbers of 300 to 325 bulls.

Update for 2005: In 2004 14 hunters scored on 12 bulls with only one bull came in under 300. Top bulls in 2004 gross scored 391, 377, 368 and 352. This 5-day hunt is priced at $9,000 for the first hunt starting in early October and the next 2 hunts will be $8,000, all guided 1x1. He has several adjoining ranches in northeastern New Mexico totaling about 95,000 acres. Lodging in a five-bedroom three-bath home.
