Joe Russo with the giant goat he shot with a rifle. If you want to take a great mountain goat, you couldn't do better than to hunt the Northern Coast Mountains of British Columbia. This area has produced many world-class animals, including the current world record and the pending Pope and Young record. The owners of this outfit are both bowhunters. The partners are a long-time guide who has spent the past few years in the Yukon and a Utah trophy hunter who made his fortune in burglar alarm systems.
This 4 1/2-year-old goat green-scored an amazing 53 6/8 B&C. The genetics and nutrition of this area are unsurpassed.

A billy taken by Hunts.Net customer Keith Campbell of Montana. The mountain goat hunts in the past three years have turned out just as well as expected. The outfitter produced 100% on Boone and Crockett animals for his rifle hunters, and muzzleloaders and bowhunters have killed some superb animals close to world record size. The hunting is excellent for outsize animals, and though you should be in good shape, this is not typically as physically difficult as some goat hunts. I hunted black bears with this outfitter in 2004 and saw some tremendous goats along with more than 40 black bears. The outfitter also offers a top-quality grizzly hunt that is good for bowhunters, and his black bear hunt is excellent, and you can take two bears. On some hunts you can add a Columbia blacktail deer and a moose, and the hunter also can take wolves or wolverine if encountered. -- Rich LaRocco
Wow! Jerry Decker of Pennsylvania spotted this timber wolf and stalked within bow range. This is one of the most unbelievable trophies ever taken by an Hunts.Net customer. |
