This bow hunt takes place on four ranches totaling 200,000 acres near Glendive in eastern Montana. We have booked for the outfitter for about 15 years. A local rancher, he hunts his own ranch, sometimes accommodating hunters there, and he also leases other prime properties. he terrain is relatively open, and there are a lot of deer. You can hunt either muleys or whitetails as well as pronghorn antelope. You'll stay in a cabin or ranch house with hot showers unless you prefer to camp outside and stay in a wall tent. Most mule deer taken on this hunt have antlers that spread from 18 to 24 inches, and the better bucks each year are usually in the 24 to 27-inch range. Combo hunts are in late October and early November. Mule deer rut hunts are available through November. You don't have to draw a tag for deer, but you must book before March 15. Antelope tags are issued through a state computer lottery with a June 1 deadline. Airport pickup in Glendive is included in the price of the hunt. The outfitter has produced 100% success some years with usually 50 to 75% of bowhunters scoring on deer. If you'd rather camp in wall tents than stay in a bunkhouse or motel, let the outfitter know.
