New Mexico outfitter offers January mule deer archery hunt

This hunt takes place on a 37,000-acre private ranch south and east of Albuquerque. The outfitter mainly offers rifle hunts, but he also offers a rut bow hunt Jan. 1-5. The hunt is $3,250. If you want to extend your hunt, extra days are $400 each. Meals and trailer accommodations are included. We've had nothing but good reports from customers who have used this outfitter. Bowhunters typically see a lot of bucks in the 130 to 160 class, and there are a few bigger ones. Hunter success is high even during the archery hunt because the deer drop their guard during the winter rut.

Hunter success History
All hunters have bucks in the 130 to 160 class and occasionally bigger animals. Hunters who can shoot well usually do fine. We have had rifle hunters on the ranch, and they gave the ranch excellent ratings.
