$5,000: Two openings for a rifle elk hunt near Edmonton, Alberta. Outfitter went six for eight in 2007 with four 6x6 bulls and two 5x5s. The biggest bull scored over 350 B&C points. He has produced bulls over 390 within the past six years. Stay in a cabin and hunt on foot or horseback, depending on the day. Hunt EK5209. This bull was filmed in this hunting zone in Alberta last summer. Nobody was able to kill him. Click on the photo for a better picture. Newfoundland moose openings available. Only $4,400, including tag and license The outfitter produced 76 bulls for 80 hunters in 2007. This included four hunters who took a new trophy hunt in an area never hunted before. All four of those hunters got bulls with antlers spreading 45 inches or more. It costs an extra $1,300 to hunt the special trophy area. Openings are Sept. 20-27 and Oct. 11-18. Tags and licenses are INCLUDED. Brooks Range moose: 2 openings in Alaska: Our moose hunt out of Kotzebue has two openings. You must apply for a tag by May. This hunt yields a high success rate on big bulls with most of the animals ranging from 60 to 65 inches. The outfitter has produced bulls up to 72 inches wide. This hunt has produced excellent success on big bulls for 20 years but it seems to be improving on really big bulls lately, probably due to the fact that tags are now limited by the state. The outfitter has not had anybody fail to draw a tag in two tries. I've done this hunt and took a caribou and big, old moose. |
Alberta moose: Special late-season hunt includes transportation to the remote hunting area by helicopter. You may stay in a wall tent camp in the hunting area, or if you prefer you can fly out every afternoon and sleep in a motel. The hunt is 3 1/2 to four hours northwest of Edmonton. The outfitter produced 13 bulls for 13 hunters in 2007. Antlers ranged from 42 to 53 inches. $6,000 a person with two hunters per guide. You must have a party of two. If you can put together four hunters, the price drops to $5,000, including the helicopter charters. Hunting license and tag are extra.
Brown bear in southeastern Alaska: One opening this fall at a special price. Boat-based hunt is April 28-May 7, 2008. The regular rate is $15,500 and includes black bear. To fill this last opening, the outfitter is offering a price of $8,000 plus a $5,000 trophy fee. This special price does not include black bear, but you can take one for a $1,500 trophy fee. Two openings for elk on a private Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit ranch in northern Utah. No high fences. Six bulls for six hunters in 2007. Typically bulls score 250-300 B&C. $5,300 for five days with two hunters per guide. Hunt EK6036. Openings for black bear in Newfoundland at only $2,000 for one bear or $2,750 for two bears, Openings this year start as early as June 8 and run through June 28.
