Whitetail deer hunts in Montana
Guided whitetail deer hunts on private land in Montana, $1,650

Eastern Montana: One of our favorite outfitters has some good whitetail properties along various river bottoms including the Tongue. He has been leaving these areas alone. After his mule deer hunters left last fall, he rattled in 15 whitetail bucks, some in the 140s. A 5-day rut hunt in November is $3,250 with one guide per pair of hunters. Meals are included, but hunters pay for their motel rooms. He will take five hunters in 2005. You must book before March 15 to buy the $775 tag. Airport pickup in Billings included. Hunt WD79.

Powder River County, Montana:

A rancher who does his own outfitting offers either whitetails or mule deer on 70,000 acres. Not all of it is whitetail habitat, so he takes just a few hunters per year. Typically hunters take bucks score 140 or more. Details.
